Our Story

Pitaya Studio is a small ceramic studio in Starnberg, where every piece is shaped by hand and carries its own unique character. The magic happens in the kiln. When the clay reaches the right temperature, natural speckles appear, making each work a true one of a kind. These speckled patterns are the signature of Pitaya Studio.

The name "Pitaya" comes from the Brazilian word for dragon fruit, a fruit known for its bright interior filled with tiny black dots, just like the natural speckles on my ceramics. According to legend, dragon fruit was created by fire-breathing dragons. It is said to have been the last thing to emerge from the dragon before it was defeated. The warriors then presented the fruit as a symbol of victory. Much like this mythical fruit, my ceramics are shaped by fire and are meant as a gift to you, to bring beauty, warmth, and meaning into your home. Whether for your dining table or your living space, my pieces blend minimalism with a boho touch, subtle, timeless, and full of personality.

I'm Sabrina

Hi, I'm Sabrina, an endlessly creative soul who loves working with clay, color, yarn, wood, and anything that helps me bring beauty to life. Creating with my hands has always been a part of who I am, and ceramics quickly became my greatest passion.

Originally from Brazil, I have been living in Germany for what feels like forever. When we moved into our house, I finally had the space to build my own studio and dedicate myself fully to the art of ceramics. Now I spend my free days shaping, glazing, and firing unique pieces.

I share my home with my wonderful husband and our Golden Retriever, who loves to sit and watch me work, perhaps waiting for a clay masterpiece made just for him!

Every piece I create carries a part of this journey, and I hope it brings warmth and joy into your home.
